Seth A. Erbe
Seth A. Erbe, an associate at Indiano & Williams, was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. After graduating as valedictorian of Green Valley High School in 1995, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2002.
In 2001, his article "How to Successfully Revive an Abandoned Trademark Application" was published in the Journal of Contemporary Legal Issues. 12 J. Contemp. Legal Issues 124. That same year he gained valuable trial and appellate experience via internships with the United States Attorney's Office in both Las Vegas and San Diego in the Narcotics and Violent Crimes Unit and the General Crimes Unit respectively.
After graduating from law school and a brief stint with Indiano & Williams, Mr. Erbe accepted a position in 2002 as Law Clerk of the Honorable Daniel R. Dominguez, U.S. District Judge for the District of Puerto Rico. Upon completion of his judicial clerkship, Mr. Erbe returned to Indiano & Williams in December 2003.
Mr. Erbe is currently the most senior associate at Indiano & Williams and practices exclusively in the federal courts. Mr. Erbe has been involved in several complex cases in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, including the antitrust case of Sterling Merchandising Inc.v. Nestle, S.A., CV 06-1015 (SEC) and the RICO case of Westernbank Puerto Rico v. Kachkar, CV 07-1606 (ADC).
Mr. Erbe has been involved in complex bankruptcy litigation, including serving as counsel on the unsecured creditor’s committee in the case of In re: El Comandante Management Company LLC (BK 04-10938) and as lead counsel representing Island Finance of Puerto Rico, Inc. and Wells Fargo Financial, Inc. in a class action suit, Quinones v. Wells Fargo, Adv. No. 07-247, before Judge Brian Tester.
Mr. Erbe has also appeared before the First Circuit Court of Appeals, arguing on behalf of appellants in Rivera v. Centro Medico del Turabo, Inc., No. 07-2657 and on brief for appellants in Morel v. DaimlerChrysler AG, No. 08-1195.
Mr. Erbe is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, and the State Courts of California. He is a member of the American Bar Association and Federal Bar Association. Since 2007, he has also taught the Local Rules portion of the Federal Bar Association Review Course for the District Court of Puerto Rico’s bar examination.
